Here is a great poem “AMAZING PEACE” by the incredible poet Maya Angelou, that we would like to share with you.

AMAZING PEACE  by Maya Angelou

In our joy, we think we hear a whisper.
At first it is too soft.   Then only half heard.
We listen carefully as it gathers strength.
We hear a sweetness.
The word is Peace.
It is loud now.
Louder than the explosion of bombs.

We tremble at the sound.
We are thrilled by its presence.
It is what we have hungered for.
Not just the absence of war.   But true Peace.
A harmony of spirit, and comfort of courtesies.
Security for our beloveds and their beloveds.

We, Angels and Mortals, Believers and Nonbelievers,
Look heavenward and speak the word aloud.
Peace.  We look at each other, then into ourselves,
And we say without shyness or apology or hesitation:

Peace, My Brother.
Peace, My Sister.
Peace, My Soul.

Juzer Shabbir

A beautiful poem by a beautiful sister.

Yes, peace is not achieved because there is no war. NO,NO, peace is achieved when you have tranquility, order, love, being considerate of one another, living by example of Christ. He did not curse, nor eradicate them from the face of the earth, He prayed for them. That is the utmost peace for me.

Manie

Jesus Christ loves you and cares for you! He is waiting at the door, will you let Him in today? Tommorrow mat be to late!

God loves you so much that He sent his only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for you. (John 3:16) You may be feeling depressed or something, but just cast all your cares upon the Lord for He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Poem of the Soul

Much I have strained to make my soul obey,
But for whose sin I had not gone astray;

When I would be obedient, it was faint
And showed a strange distaste and unrestraint.

I wrestled with my soul as with a foe,
It bidding me to err, I saying no;

We were as ancient enemies at large.
I put on patience, to withstand its charge;

With troops of tempting it came forth to fight -
What patience could withstand such reckless might? -

Which gave it courage when its courage quailed,
And reinforcement when its forces failed.

Now I succeed, now it, in the affray;
Yet, when we meet, it ever wins the day.

I love it well, but it opposes me
As if I held it not in amity;

It is an enemy I cannot hate,
A memory I can ne’er obliterate.

Blindly it swims upon its sinful sea,
Clutching the hems of its iniquity;

I greatly fear it, it doth still rebel,
Its ruin in this life and, after, Hell!

Wherefore, O Lord, bring its repentance near
And wash away its sins in founts of fear.

If Thou, my God, its chastener shoudst be,
O whither shall it look for clemency?

Be Gracious then, and all its sins forgive;
Thou art its Lord, for through Thee it doth live.

-By Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazali

THE REALITIES OF LIFE

Let the days pass as they will
Be content with Allah’s will.

Do not regret what this day’s cast,
For this world’s pains for sure won’t last.

Be a man against fears strong,
Be kind and loyal, all life long.

If in folk’s eyes your faults abound,
And you wish that they be gowned:

Then shelter seek beneath kind acts,
For kindness well all blame retracts.

From enemies hide your weakness
For gloating foes do bring distress.

From misers never seek favour:
In fire there is no water.

Patience won’t reduce thy income,
Nor fretfulness increase the sum.

Neither pain nor joy shall last,
Nor poverty, nor riches vast.

But if your heart is satisfied
Then own you do the whole world wide.

A man on whom his fate alights
No depths shall save, nor any heights.

Allah’s earth is wide, but know,
Destiny makes it narrow.

Face each day on even keel.
There is no balm from death can heal.

- Translated from the original Arabic version of the Diwan of Imam al-Shafi’i
